Here’s to You, Dad

Today, on Father’s Day, I found myself revisiting a chapter about my father for my upcoming memoir, A Journey of Love: Stories of Becoming, Resilience, and Miracles.

As I reflected on his life, I was reminded that we inherit more than eye color, talents, or family stories.

We inherit ways of meeting life.

My father didn’t have an easy beginning. Yet he carried grit, curiosity, resilience, humor, and a deep love of life. He taught me that resilience isn’t always dramatic. Often it is simply the decision to keep going, to remain curious, and to continue finding reasons to smile.

One of his favorite songs was What a Wonderful World. Even now, whenever I hear it, I think of him and the way he never lost his ability to recognize beauty, even during difficult times.

As I worked on his story today, I found myself feeling grateful—not only for the man he was, but for the gifts that continue to flow through our family.

So today, I raise my heart in gratitude.

Here’s to you, Dad.

And here’s to all those fathers whose love, courage, resilience, and wonder continue to shape our lives long after they are gone.

Wishing blessings to all who are celebrating, remembering, or missing someone they love this Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day.

With love,

Anna
